COVID-19 Safety Questions
What safety protocols are you taking to ensure your clients are safe from COVID-19 in your studio?
I am taking several steps to make sure that my client and myself remain safe during all services.
- Masks are mandatory for entry to the building. No mask. No service.
- A temperature check will be done at the door downstairs prior to entering the building at each service.
- Clients are required to fill out and sign a form stating that they are not sick and have not recently been sick.
- Everything that I use from now on during my services are disposable. I am using disposable sheets during my skin care treatments, disposable table paper for waxing, and disposable headbands.
- A medical grade air purifier with a HEPA filter will be run at all times.
Skin Care Questions
What does a Classic Skin Treatment include?
The Classic Skin Treatment will rejuvenate and enhance your skin with a gentle cleansing, exfoliation with steam, extractions if needed, masque and a massage to the face, arms, and hands, using a combination of products, customized for your skin type. You will leave our studio revealing a healthier and glowing complexion!
What is LED Light Therapy?
You may have heard about a high-tech sounding treatment for acne and wrinkles: Light-emitting diode (LED) therapy. Also known as photodynamic therapy or PDT, these light-emitting treatments for acne and signs of aging complement rather than replace a well-formulated skin-care routine (yes, you'll still need sunscreen).
LED Light therapy diminishes fine lines & wrinkles, reduces age spots, hyper-pigmentation, and acne-causing bacteria.
SAFE. NO PAIN. INSTANT RESULTS.
I've never had a bikini wax before. How can I prepare myself?
If it's your first time having a bikini wax done, I always suggest to make sure you exfoliate the area before coming in. When you exfoliate the area, this removes dead skin cells that could cause the wax to bind to. Exfoliated skin makes the wax go on smoothly, and removed without problems. I also suggest reading my article: Surviving Your First Brazilian.
I'm getting my legs waxed for the first time. Is there anything that I need to know?
As mentioned above, it is very important to exfoliate your skin with a natural loofa sponge before you come in to get waxed. This will make the wax go on smoothly, and removed without problems. Some even say that it makes the service a lot less painful. If you are coming off of shaving, it is important to know that not all of the hairs will be able to be removed during the first waxing service. When you shave, the hair follicles are being damaged, causing ingrown hairs, red bumps, and the hair to grow more coarse. It takes bout four months for the hair to go onto one growth cycle. Once it is, it will all be one length and can be removed without a problem.
I've been shaving under my arms and my skin is much darker there. What causes this? And, what can I do to fix this?
When you shave you are damaging the hair follicles. This causes the skin to go into protection mode and produce more melanin. More melanin means more color. I usually suggest exfoliating on a regular basis.
I'm getting a spray tan. Can I still wax?
Yes, you can. However, it's best to get your wax first and wait 24-48 hours before getting the spray tan. This way, if your skin shows any sign of irritation, it will give it a chance to calm down.
I have a sunburn, can I still get waxed or have a facial?
If you have sunburn or heat rash from the sunbed or sun you will have to wait 24 hours until waxing can be carried out. As the skin would be very hot and the waxing would be very painful and may pull skin.
I am 9 months pregnant, due any day now, and need a Brazilian wax. What do I do?
If you have been seeing me regularly, once a month throughout your pregnancy you can schedule your appointment as usual. Since you are past the six month mark in your pregnancy, I require a doctor's note from your obstetrician which should show me that it's okay to wax you. This is a required safety precaution, no exceptions.
Cancellation and Re-Scheduling Questions
I have an appointment today, but I need to cancel and/or reschedule. What should I do?
You will not be charged if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your appointment starts. Otherwise, you will be charged 50% of your scheduled service for same day cancellations and 100% of your service for a no-show.
